Rose A. Mielke, 78, of Pecatonica, died, Friday, November 13, 2015, at F.H.N. Hospital. Rose was born on September 19, 1937 in Savanna, the daughter of Merle and Evelyn (Noble) Hastings. Rose graduated from Stockton High School in 1956. She married Robert Mielke on January 20, 1957. Rose supported her husband on the family farm for many years. She also worked at Spurgeon's, Arlan's Department Store, Holiday Inn; sold jewels by Park Lane, Stanley Home Products, and Avon supplies. She was a 4-H leader for many years. Rose attended Bible Community Church in Freeport. Rose was an avid gardener. Surviving are her husband, Robert Mielke of Pecatonica; children, Sharon (Kelvin) Krise of Freeport, Susan (Thomas) Reilly of Coal Valley; Gary (Cindi) Mielke of Ridott, Gerald (Jessie Allen) Mielke of Ridott, Theresa (Mark) Klenz of Rock City; 15 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers; George (Shirley) Hastings of Savanna, Floyd "Butchie" Knapp of Erie and Charles (Pam) Knapp of Kalamazoo, Mi. Her brother in law, Leslie Glazier, of Erie and Sister in law Vickie Hastings of Hanover Rose was preceded in death by parents, brother, Allen Hastings; sister, Marjorie Glazier; and great-grandson, Gannon Vails. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday November 17, 2015 at Community Bible Church. Rev. Kurt Strong will officiate. Visitation will be Monday 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Pearl City.
