Roosevelt Baker, 74, of Freeport, died Sunday April 11, 2021 in his home. He was born August 9, 1946 in Charleston, MS, the son of James and Jeffie Lacy. Roosevelt married Emma Baker in Freeport, IL. He worked at Structo/Thermos, Metal Specialties, and did gardening in his spare time. He was a member of Freeport Church of Christ. Roosevelt is survived by his wife, Emma baker of Freeport, IL; sons, Kenneth Williamson, Roosevelt Baker, Jr., Kendrick Baker, and Willie Jones; daughters, Bernice McNair, Kimberly Williamson, and Shenelle Keys; brothers, James Lacy and Bob Lacy; sisters, Bernice McClinton, Linda Hall, Vivian Lacy, Brenetta Hall, Lucy Lacy, and Johnny Mae Bradford; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday April 17, 2021 at Freeport Church of Christ with Jeff White officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Freeport City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.
