Ronald M. Pannkuk, 71, of Shannon, died Tuesday January 15, 2013 at Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport. He was born on July 19, 1941 in Buffalo Center, IA, the son of Minert and Sadie (Ruter) Pannkuk. Ronald married Corrine Ryan on October 15, 1966 in Forreston, IL. Ronald graduated from Shannon High School in 1960. He farmed in the Shannon area, worked for Cherry Brothers and Green Giant, and also was an L.P. truck driver for Carroll Service. He was a member of North Grove Evangelical Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his pets. Ronald is survived by his wife Corrine Pannkuk of Shannon, IL; his son Kevin (Trisha) Pannkuk of Shannon, IL; three daughters Karen (Garry) Richards of Freeport, Suellen Pannkuk of Shannon, and Linda (Ron) Getz of Savanna; his brother Gene (Katy) Pannkuk of Forreston; his sister Joyce (Thomas) McPhillips of Stockton; four grandchildren Jameson Pannkuk, Sarah Richards, and Riley and Lakin Getz; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Justin Richards. Funeral services for Mr. Pannkuk will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday January 19, 2013 at North Grove Evangelical Church in rural Forreston, with Rev. Tom McClellan officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-8:00 P.M. Friday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial has been established in his memory.
