Ronald J. Oehl, 84, of Freeport, died Wednesday December 9, 2020 at Manor Court in Freeport due to complications from COVID 19. He was born September 23, 1936 in Freeport, Il, the son of Joseph and Muriel (Mosiman) Oehl. Ronald married Sharon Ary June 8, 1968 in Rockford, IL. Ronald was Vice President of Administration at Western States Insurance Company retiring in 1995. He was a US Army Veteran. He was a 1954 Graduate of Aquin High School. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He enjoyed classic cars, golfing, and spending winters in Florida for over twenty years. Family was very important to him, especially his two grandsons, Tyler and Rumen. Ronald is survived by his wife, Sharon Oehl of Freeport, Il; daughter, Joleen (Daniel) Lentz of Oregon, WI; and two grandsons, Tyler Lentz of Arena, WI and Rumen Lentz of Oregon, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gordon Oehl. Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, a private family service will be held Saturday December 12, 2020 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for FHN Hospice and Friends Forever Humane Society in Ronald's memory.
