Roger William Sievert

Roger William Sievert, 51, of Fresno, California and former Freeport resident died Sunday, November 20, in the compassionate hospice care of Fresno Community Hospital, Fresno, California. Roger was born April 27, 1960 in Rockford, Illinois the son of Dale and Janice (Monjeau) Sievert. He attended Freeport schools, graduated from Freeport High School in 1978. He was active in Boy Scouts and was a member of F.A.S.T. Swim Team. Roger attended Highland Community College and graduated from Carthage College, Kenosha, Wisconsin. Roger and Mona Bergh were united in marriage in April, 1988; they divorced in 1999. Roger moved to Fresno to begin a new life in California. Roger is survived by his parents of Freeport, his brother Robert (Jan) Sievert and his two nieces, Amanda and Megan Sievert of Monument, Colorado; aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends of happy days in Freeport. Also his special friend, Julie Collins of Fresno and Jeb. Cremation rites have been accorded. A service of remembering will be Saturday, December 3, at 12:00 P.M. in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, 504 N. Walnut Ave. Freeport. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of service. Rev. Keith Johnson, pastor of First Lutheran Church will officiate. A luncheon will follow at First Lutheran Church.
