Roger W. Meyer, Sr.

Roger W. Meyer, Sr., 70, of Polo, IL, died Wednesday September 16, 2015 at Rockford Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 13, 1945 in Adeline, IL, the son of John and Gladys (Genandt) Meyer. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Roger is survived by his son Roger (Glenda) Meyer, Jr.; two daughters Penny (Gary) Mon of Polo, IL and Pam (Lance) Painter of Aledo, IL; his sister Judy Richards of Rockford, IL; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his special cousin Paul "Pete" Meyer, Jr.; also other cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday September 19, 2015 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston with Rev. Larry Jamison officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service also at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Burial will be in Adeline Cemetery.
