Roger N. Julius, 35, of Sterling, IL, passed away Sunday December 15, 2024 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling, IL. He was born December 18, 1988 in Monroe, WI, the son of Steve Julius and Toni Pohl. Roger was a parole officer for the state of Illinois and prior to that a Correction Officer at the Dixon prison. He also served as a volunteer firefighter in German Valley and took great pride in being on the department. He was a fisherman and outdoorsman and really enjoyed ice fishing, duck hunting, and hunting with his dad. He also enjoyed woodworking, cooking, and gardening. Roger had a loyal friend group that he was very close with and were very important to him.
He is survived by his parents Toni (William Jr.) White of Forreston, IL and Steve (Anna) Julius of Freeport, IL; grandfathers Roger Julius of Freeport, IL, Darius (Karen) Pohl of Eleroy, IL, and Emil Alich of Forreston, IL; two sisters Christine White of Dakota, IL and Amber Ludwig of Freeport, IL; step-brother Andy (Claire) White of Harvard, IL; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends; and his two cats Resee’s and Oreo.
He is preceded in death by his two grandmothers Jane Julius and Sherrie Alich.
A memorial visitation will be held 1:00-4:00 PM Friday December 20, 2024 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family committal will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens on Saturday December 21, 2024. A memorial has been established in Roger’s memory.
