Roger Heim

Roger Heim, 79, of Freeport, died Friday February 1, 2019. He was born December 5, 1939 in Freeport, the son of Elroy and Eleanor (Kirchberg) Heim. Roger married Betty Blankenhorn on January 14, 1982. Roger graduated from Freeport High School in 1957. He owned and operated Heim's Auto Center for 40 years. From his work at the Auto Center he gained the nickname "VW MAN". He enjoyed riding and racing his motorcycle, and fishing up north in Wisconsin. Surviving are his wife, Betty Heim of Freeport; son, Brad Heim of Freeport; daughter, Angela (Daniel) Suh of Elgin; step-son, Daniel Blankenhorn of Freeport; step-daughter, Melanie (Daniel) Pickett of South Wayne, Wisconsin; three sisters, Faith (Daniel) Head of Oregon, Garnet (Mark) Damon of Durand, and Hope Kane of Scales Mound; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren. Roger was preceded in heath by his parents, aunts, uncles, and step-father, Freeman Engelman. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday February 8, 2019 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Blomberg will officiate. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery (Darlington, Wisconsin).
