Roger D. Kneller, 80, of Freeport, died Thursday morning at Freeport Rehab and Health Care Center. Roger was born on December 21, 1930 in a Model A Ford en route to the hospital between Cedarville and Freeport in a snowstorm. Roger was the son of Karl and Edna (Rote) Kneller. Roger served for the US Army from 1953-1955 in the Korean War. He was a truck driver for over 30 years. He loved to watch wrestling, play euchre and enjoyed spending time with his family especially all of his grandchildren. Survivors include;, three daughters; Peggy (Perry) Hartman of Freeport, Judy (Brian) Toepfer of Freeport, and Sue Jennings of Chicago, one son, Roy Roger (Sandy) Kneller of Chicago, one brother; Paul (Delores) Kneller of Freeport, three sisters; Esther (Leonard) Otto of Baileyville, Delores (Leo) Rackow of Freeport, and Joyce (Joe Romanowski) Flannery of Orangeville. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by; daughter, Linda, both parents and his brother, Elmer. Funeral Services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday May 21, 2011 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom McClellan officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at Burke Tubbs .
