Robert E. Stewart

Robert E. Stewart, Sr., 64, of Cedarville, died after battling cancer Wednesday August 19, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 30, 1950 in Champaign, IL, the son of Frederick and Dorothy (Baal) Stewart, Sr. He married Marlene Boomgarden July 1, 1972 in Freeport, IL. He worked for Burgess Battery, Kelly Springfield, and Farm & Fleet. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and following the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Family was a very important part of his life. Robert is survived by his wife Marlene Stewart of Cedarville, IL; his son Robert (Kristie) Stewart, Jr. of Cedarville, IL; two daughters Tammy (Jeff) Kromm of Freeport, IL and Teresa Stewart of Cedarville, IL; two brothers Frederick (Barb) Stewart Jr. of Lena, IL and Kenneth (Dawn) Stewart of Longview, TX; two sisters Donna (Wayne) Woodley of Freeport, IL and Linda (David) Van Matre of Freeport, IL; six grandchildren Jorden, Brenten, and Jillien Witt, Kiersten and Cullen Kromm, and Eley Stewart; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday August 22, 2015 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Bruce Harbach officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Friday at Burke-Tubbs.
