Robert Deane Bierk

Robert D. Bierk, 85, of Freeport, IL, beloved husband, dad, and papa passed away March 28, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, the son of Lee and Myrtle (Miller) Bierk. Robert graduated from the University of Missouri. He was a member of the US Air Force. He was in sales management his entire career both with Ralston-Purina and DeKalb Genetics. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Nina. He was especially proud of his children Robert (Katrina), Michael (Tammy), David, and Lisa (Stefan) Edh; enjoyed being Papa to his grandchildren Abbygale, Jake, Caitlin, Jessica, Jon, Rachel, Lindsey, Corey, Payton, Lauren, and Shane. Also survived by siblings Betty Westenheiser and Jack (Nancy) Bierk; sister-in-law Phyllis Link and brother-in-law Doug (Becky) Goff as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 21, 2018 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (1400 Kiwanis Drive, Freeport). Visitation will be 4:00 -7:00 p.m. Friday April 20, 2018 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home (504 N. Walnut Ave, Freeport), and also from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass at the church.
