Robert “Bob, Mr. Logo, Papa” Charles Logothetti, born April 20, 1941 in Chicago, IL
Years ago Bob wrote his own obituary, a man of few words… I died. But his family wanted to share the following… Surrounded by his family, Bob died in the evening on Saturday January 27, 2024 in Freeport, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Maryann and his daughters Jennifer (Michael) Gordon, Susan (Louis Mahre) Logothetti, Angie (Nate) Paulson, and Nickie (Tim) Broge. Nine grandchildren: Alexander and Paige Gordon; Kinsey, Alyssa, and Parker Paulson; Drew, Tyler, Evan, and Hanna Broge. Everybody’s shop teacher for over 30 years at Freeport Jr. High School, Bob was also the girls’ basketball and track coach. After retiring from teaching, he spent many years being a referee for basketball and volleyball in Freeport and the surrounding areas. He attended and graduated Lane Tech High School in Chicago and obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northern Illinois University. Bob was a lover of old cars, and could often be seen organizing the antique cars for Freeport’s Cruise Night or just on his own cruise through Krape Park in his 1967 VW Beetle or 1930 Model A Ford.
Preceded in death by his parents August (Augie) and Antoinette (Toni) Logothetti as well as two sisters Marjorie Lichtenberger and Mary Anne Brown.
Funeral will be held at Park Hills Church on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11 am, with visitation starting at 9 am. Interment at Oakland Cemetery, Freeport IL. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Park Hills Church and the Freeport Public Library.
