Robert C. Faist 77, formerly of Freeport, died Sunday February 21, 2016 at Park Place of Belvidere. Robert was born on April 14, 1938 in Freeport, the son of Clem and Arvilla (Hoefer) Faist. Robert farmed in Stephenson County and owned and operated Country Communications. He married Betty Mullins in May 2003. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Rockford, Freeport Auxiliary Police, Southern Wisconsin Snowmobile Racing Association, Rockford Gideons, and formerly a member of faith United Methodist Church in Freeport. Surviving are his wife, Betty Mullins-Faist of Rockford; sons, Larry (Ellen) Faist of Cincinnati, Ohio and Randy (Monica) Faist of Janesville, Wisconsin; daughters, Lori (Jeff) McCarthy of Matthews, North Carolina, Cindy (Fred) Watson of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Sandi (Mark) Parsons of Watkinsville, Georgia; 11 grandchildren, Emma and Anna Faist, Abby and Ben Watson, Ryan and Matt McCarthy, Justin and Morgan Parsons, Amelia, Miranda, and Isaac Faist. Also surviving is nephew, Gary (Lori) Greenfield. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marion Greenfield-Sanden; and nephew, Mark Greenfield. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 25, 2016 at Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Road, Rockford, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for OSF Hospice.
