Robert "Bob" P. Moore, 84, of Freeport, passed away, Wednesday September 4, 2024, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Bob was born August 20, 1940, in Freeport, the son of Gerald and Helen (Rinehart) Moore. Bob married Rosalie "Rosie" J. Boward on June 30, 1963, in Polo. Rosie passed away, January 5, 2003. Bob served in the US Army Reserves. Bob worked for Micro Switch for 18 years before becoming the Information Services Manager at FHN Memorial Hospital for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid golfer in his free time. He was an accoplished bowler which led him to becoming a member of the Illinois Bowling Hall of Fame. Bob was a member of Fellowship in Recovery.
Surviving is his daughter, Cheryl (Brad) Robbins of Chebanse, IL.; four grandchildren, Sarah (Adam) Beherns, Megan (Dennis) Roper, and Heather (Aaron) Calkins; seven great-grandchildren, Makinna Beherns, Morgan Beherns, Evan Sparenberg, Wyatt Sparenberg, Levi Sparenberg, Leah Roper and Mallory Roper; sister-in-law, Edna Moore; nieces, Shannon Moore (Mike Pflug) and Kelly (Ben) Frye; and special friends, Darla Flickenger, Bob Thomas, and Joe Green.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Donald; and grandson, Dylan Robbins.
Memorial Visitation will be Saturday September 7, 2024 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Private family services to follow. A memorial has been established in Bob’s memory.
