Rita J. Loring

Rita J. Loring, 89, of Freeport, died Friday, April 27, 2018 at Manor Court. Rita was born April 15, 1929 in Freeport, the daughter of Glen and Agnes (Heck) Burchell. She married Merrill C. Loring March 20, 1947 in Huntley, Illinois. Mr. Loring died December 2, 1995. Rita was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She worked for Montgomery Ward and then General Casualty before retiring in 1996. Rita's whole life revolved around spending time and taking care of her family. Surviving are two sons, Michael (Nancy) Loring of Palatine and Patrick (Karen) Loring of Waukesha, Wisconsin; daughter, Cynthia Miller of Polo; six grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Timothy, Nathan, Jennifer, and Jessica. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Bob, and her son-in-law Jim Miller. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 1, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at St. Mary's. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
