Richard Hess

Richard Hess, 70, of Loves Park, IL, passed away October 13, 2024 in his home. He was born December 19, 1953 in Dixon, IL, to John and Joyce (Grice) Hess. Richard was a 1972 graduate of Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling, IL, where he participated in football, wrestling and track. For several years Richard taught ballroom dancing at Fred Astaire Studios in the Chicago Area. While he worked there, he also participated in many dance competitions. After graduation he served in the United States Army. Richard enjoying playing trivia and he was a gun enthusiast. He was a member of the NRA.

He is survived by his sister Catherine (Mark) Juergens of Freeport, IL; brother Anthony (Liz) Hess of Des Moines, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Richard in death are his parents, brother John, and sister Marcia.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services are being planned for the spring. A memorial has been established in Richard’s memory.
