Richard E. Richmond

Richard E. Richmond, 81, of Freeport, died Saturday August 19, 2017 at his home. He was born December 19, 1935 in West, MS, the parents of Monroe and Ruby Lee Davis. Richard worked for Burgess Battery, Structo, and retired from Newell. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, spending time with his family, and sitting in his garage relaxing. Richard is survived by his son Alfred Lee Richmond of Rockford, IL; two daughters Julie Richmond of Rockford, IL and Joyce Crochrell of Freeport, IL; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Larry Richmond, and two brothers Ruben Richmond and Lenora Fitch. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday August 26, 2017 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Hester Crawford officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service also at Burke-Tubbs. Burial will be in Freeport City Cemetery. Following the burial repast will be held at the Monroe Center 714 E. Orin Freeport, IL. A memorial has been established in his memory.
