Richard D. 'Curly' Weegens, 77, a former Shannon-Forreston area resident died Friday, November , 11 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born October 28, 1934 in Forreston, Illinois the son of Simon and Gladys (Ebright) Weegens. Mr. Weegens married Maryann Drewelow who preceded him in death. Mr. Weegens married Judith A. Von Holten at Sterling, Illinois in 1974. She survives. Mr. Weegens owned and operated his own hauling business and also owned and operated a Produce business. He also worked as a trucker. In addition to his wife, Mr. Weegens is survived Seven sons; Alan (Maritess) Weegens of Colorado Springs, Co., Mark (Rhonda) Weegens of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Terry (Debbie) Weegens of Loveland, Co., Todd (Glenna) Weegens of Freeport, Ill., Dana (Lisa) Weegens of Niles, Mi., Matt (Kathy) Weegens of Louisville, Ky. And Neal (Lori) Weegens of Oak Ridge, Tn. One daughter, Mary (Josh) Wiggins of Three Rivers, Mi. Four sisters; Barbara (James) Gilbert, Marlene(Robert) Gaul, Ethel (Bob) Hudson and Carol Fishman. Also, 24 Grandchildren and 18 Great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Phyllis Weegens. Funeral service for Mr. Weegens will be Wednesday, 10:00 A.M. in Baileyville Baptist Church. Rev. Alan Cassel, pastor will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, 4:00-8:00 P.M. in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Forreston. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery, Forreston. A memorial has been established in his name.
