Rexford I. Printz Junior
1934-2024
Rex I. Printz entered this world on August 28, 1934 in Lanark, Illinois. He left us on May 26th in his home, surrounded by his Family and Friends who became family.
Rex was the son of Rexford Sr. and Mabel (Krauss) Printz. On November 27, 1954 he married Ardis Bocker at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lanark, IL. Together they celebrated 66 years of marriage and 3 children.
Rex loved to farm, he worked for Municipal Maintenance, Seward Road Commissioner for many years and then retired as a truck driver for Kampen Farms. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Forreston, Il. Boy did he love his church and his church family.
He loved to garden and most of all being out in his workshop building his wood projects. His family’s homes are filled with different wood projects he would build for them and will be forever cherished. His jokes kept a smile on everyone’s face, even through his toughest times and right up to his last days.
When his wife Ardis entered the nursing home, our grandpa visited her every single day. She never had to wonder if he was coming or not, because he would never miss a day. After her passing, until the day he could no longer physically do it, he would take Shell Coffee to her resting place, and share his coffee with her. The love he showed for her in her final years became an anthem for his family and grandchildren. He taught everyone what true love was and that is his legacy. You never walk away; you love to the last second.
Rex lost his wife on May 21, 2021 and yearned to be with her again.
Rex is survived by his children Mike Printz, Lorie (Denny) Hazel and Julie Langholf (Jeff Hagemann); 7 grandchildren Tiffany (Darren) Pipp, Shane Printz, Dustin (Renee) Printz, Becky (Derek) Moore, Beth (Jon) Bolen, Jenna (Kenny) Light and Jessica (Ryan) Munz.
Great Grandchildren; Kaylee, Brianne, Breyton, Hayden and Brynlee; Nathanael Isaiah, John and James; Landon Isaiah and Faith; Ellie and Judd; Charlotte and Lydia; Joshua James Daniel and Roxanne; four sister-in-laws Marcia Printz, Christine Printz, Marlene Witmer, and Audrey Stuckenberg. Also Many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Rex is also survived by so many friends of his children and grandchildren, that he became a grandpa to all.
