Raymond Lloyd Carter, 76, of Freeport, died Monday, May 28, 2018 in his home. Raymond was born January 20, 1942, in Elizabeth, Illinois the son of Lloyd and Margaret (Thompson) Carter. He married Rita Ann Cline January 13, 1970 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Raymond was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War from 1966-1970. He farmed for many years and worked for Heritage Molds as a Mold Maker retiring in 2006. Raymond was a member of the Cedarville Baptist Church where he sang in the Church Choir, he was a Board Member of Dunham Chemung Insurance Agency. He enjoyed tinkering around his home in his free time, following motor sports and teasing his beloved grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Rita Ann Carter of Freeport; son, Dan (Annie) Carter of Freeport; two daughters, Pam (Jimmy) Stichter and Deanna (Kurt) Boland both of Freeport; sister, Charlotte Boettner of Freeport. Also surviving are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 2, 2018 at Cedarville Baptist Church. Rev. Richard Woodruff will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday June 1, 2018 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the Church.
