Raymond D. Hiester

Raymond D. Hiester, 73, of Freeport, died Sunday June 16, 2013, at FHN Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Raymond was born January 16, 1940 in Reading, Pennsylvania the son of Robert and Rosie (Grime) Hiester. Raymond was employed by Furst McNess, Erickson Dental Lab, and Hiester Construction. Raymond married Janet Wiegmann on August 8, 1970. She passed away on February 10, 2005. Raymond served in the U.S. Army. Raymond was in bowling leagues for many years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his son, Robert (Becky) Hiester of Freeport; daughter Angela Hiester of Tennessee; brother, Morris 'Tiny' Hiester of Pennsylvania; father-in-law, Phil Wiegmann; five grandchildren, Mollie, Billy and Jillian Knight and Kyle and Alyssa Hiester; one great granddaughter, Kaylynn; one great-grandson, Knox; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, mother-in-law, Doris Wiegmann; one great grandson, Klay; and 13 brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Rev. Parker will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
