Providence Ann Moeller

February 28, 1944 — October 25, 2016

Providence Ann Moeller, 72, of Stafford, Virginia, formerly of Cedarville, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 after a courageous 21-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Prov was born in Shelby, Mississippi, on February 28, 1944, the daughter of Dominick and Rose (Malatesta) Bravata. After graduating with honors in business education from Freeport Senior High School, Prov worked as a clerk-steno for the Illinois Department of Public Aid. She later graduated magna cum laude from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor of science in education degree. She married Thomas G. Moeller on Dec. 28, 1968. Prov was a dedicated teacher who spent more than 30 years teaching elementary school in Iowa and Virginia. Prov loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a loving person and was always looking to perform some kindness for friends and relatives. Her biggest love, however, was her family, especially her grandchildren. Her family and many friends will miss her, and her death puts a void in their lives. Prov was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Kurt (Michelle), of Bethesda, MD, and Scott (Mary Kathryn), of Tulsa, OK.; four grandchildren (Alexander, Gregory, Nicholas, and Lucy); and a sister, Albina Ascher (Doug), of Calhoun, GA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Following the visitation, there will be a graveside ceremony and interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1503 Michael Road, Richmond, VA, or to the UMW Catholic Campus Ministry, 1614 College Ave., Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Please sing Prov's guestbook and share a memory at www.burketubbs.com.
