Phyllis Ann Mullarkey

Freeport, Illinois: Mullarkey, Phyllis Ann (Baker) went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 5, 2017, in her home. Phyllis was born February 23, 1929, the daughter of Theodore R. and Dorothy E. (Cook) Baker in Indianapolis, Indiana. She married Robert J. Doll on February 7, 1948. He died September 22, 1966. On November 28, 1969 she married Donald E. Mullarkey in Freeport, Illinois. She was a 1946 graduate of Freeport High School and a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Freeport, Illinois. Phyllis was employed at Community General Hospital in Sterling, Illinois before retiring in 1989. She enjoyed reading and vacationing at Lake Wisconsin and Southern Texas for over 26 years. Surviving are her husband Donald; one son Dr. Steven (Francie) Doll of Tomah, Wisconsin; two daughters, Janet (Wayne) Wichman and Karen (Joe) DiModica both of Freeport; two stepsons, James (Deena) Mullarkey of German Valley, Illinois and Jay Mullarkey of Freeport; two stepdaughters, Kathy (Mullarkey) Dabel of Baraboo, Wisconsin and Christine (Michael) Giardini of Freeport; one sister Marlene (William) Brokhausen of Rockford, Illinois. She also is survived by 15 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Doll and one Grandson, Jared Mullarkey. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
