Pauletta Lynn Bement

Pauletta Lynn (Riggs) Bement, 56, of Freeport, IL, died Sunday January 1, 2017 at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, IL. She was born March 14, 1960 in Point Pleasant, WV, the daughter of Paul and Beryl (Sayre) Riggs. She married Terry Bement July 17, 2000 in Belvidere, IL. Pauletta worked for Northwoods Care Center in Belvidere, IL. She was a member of Freeport Church of Christ. Pauletta is survived by her husband Terry of Freeport, IL; her children Jenny (Mike) Hicks of Shreveport, LA, Dawn (Clint) Anderson of Loves Park, IL, Cynthia (Ken) Grzybowski of Rockton, IL, Mary (Brian) Jacobi of Loves Park, IL, Joseph Lawton of Rockford, IL, and Samantha (Buzz) May of Belvidere, IL; her brothers Darrell (Ginger) Riggs of Belvidere, IL, Larry (Deborah) Riggs of Rockford, IL, Paul (Bev) Riggs Jr., of Dallas, TX, and Edward (Leslie) Riggs of Richardson, TX; her sisters Cinda (Robin) Kleppetsch of Sycamore, IL, Cheryl Riggs of Cortland, IL, Rhonda Gorter of Houston, TX, and Janet Riggs of Dallas, TX; mother-in-law Priscilla Bement of Belvidere, IL; brother-in-law Ralph (Laura) Bement of Cedar Grove WI; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother Paul and Anita Riggs; her mother and stepfather Beryl and Meryle Lawton; two brothers Phillip and Bruce Riggs; her niece Diana Riggs; and her father-in-law Harry Bement. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday January 7, 2017 at Freeport Church of Christ with Pastor Jeff White officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in DeKalb, IL. A memorial has been established in her memory.
