Paul R. Wootan Jr.

Paul R. Wootan Jr., 84, of Freeport, died Sunday November 6, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Center. Paul was born November 16, 1931 in Freeport, the son of Paul and Coretta (Bingham) Wootan Sr. Paul married Carol Jean Otto on March 17, 1962 in Freeport. Carol passed away July 21, 1998. He was a 1949 Freeport High School graduate. Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Paul was a member of the Freeport Eagles Club. He enjoyed bowling and golfing and was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He owned and operated the Yum Yum shop in the Lincoln Mall and also owned Star Bowl. Surviving are his son, George Reinhart of Freeport; daughter, Suellen Veer of Freeport; brother, Ted (Joan) Wootan of Freeport; sister, Polly Diddens of Centralia; daughter-in-law, Linda Reinhart of Winchester, TN.; 11 grandchildren, including his granddaughter and caregiver Tara Meier of Cedarville; and 15 great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Bill; and a granddaughter. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 12, 2016 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home.
