Patricia Ellis

Patricia A. Ellis of Freeport, IL departed this life on Wednesday September 14, 2022, at home surrounded by family. Patricia was born August 27, 1952, in Forrest City, AR the daughter of James and Maudie (Crump)Piggue. The family moved to Freeport, IL in August 1968. Patricia married David Ellis on 12/23/1989. Patricia graduated from Freeport High School in 1970 and Highland Community College in 1974. She worked several years for Structo Thermos before moving on to Micro Switch - Honeywell where she was Lead Set-up Operator. She retired from Honeywell in November 2012. Patricia loved spending time with her family, taking care of grandkids, watching Young and the Restless and going to the casino. Patricia confessed her life to Christ at an early age in 1970 when she joined St. Martin Baptist Church under Reverend Ernest Crump. She leaves to mourn in passing husband David Ellis of 32 years; two children daughter Veronica (Nysheaki) Piggue, son Roderick (Yetta) Piggue both of Freeport, IL; Ronnie Ellis of Rockford, IL; two brothers Kenneth Williams of Flint, MI, Barry Piggue of Rockford, IL; Four sisters Verner Williams, Connie Jocelyn, Rickey Newton all of Freeport, Daniece (George) Benson of St. Louis, MO; one sister in-law Terrine Piggue; five grandchildren Cortez Brown, Tyzhana Piggue, Deontae Swanigan, Tyzhaun Piggue, Argenell Piggue; six great grandchildren Da'Nesiyah Piggue, Dre'yah Piggue, Cortez Brown Jr, Dreydan Brown, Cormarion Brown, Aziarah Brown; host of cousins, nieces, nephews; special friends Sue Rada, Margaret Ann Jackson and Debra Parks. Patricia was proceeded in death by her parents James and Maudie (Crump) Piggue; sisters Emma McCoy, Algerice Horde; brother James Piggue Sr; grandson DeAndre Piggue; two nieces Jackie Horde, Carla Horde; two nephews Patrick Lucas and Jimmy Whitehead.
