Nozelia Ross made her transition from this earthly life to eternity, Sunday July 31, 2011 after a long illness. Born May 7, 1927 in Holmes County, Mississippi, the daughter of Ola (Love) Banks and Roosevelt Banks Sr. She attended Freeport Schools, Freeport, Ill. and graduated from Nola'™s School of Beauty Culture becoming a licensed cosmetologist. She also worked for over 25 years as an assembler at Structo Mfg. A long time member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Freeport, Ill., later moving her membership to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, serving in various capacities. She also was a faithful member in the Grand Court Order of Calanthe of the Knights of Pythias of Illinois. She was devoted to family, and enjoyed a life of shopping and travel. She leaves to cherish her memories: A daughter, Carol (Victory) Bell, Rockford, Ill. A cousin Constance(Clint) Walker, whom she raised as her own daughter, Rockford, Ill. A Brother, Roosevelt (Catherine) Banks, Freeport, Ill. Grandchildren: Roger C. Farrar, Rockford, Ill., Bradley (Lori) Farrar, College Park, Maryland, Kaietta Banks Mims, Freeport, Ill. Two great-grandchildren: Christopher Farrar, Roscoe, Ill. And Regan Farrar, College Park, Maryland. A special nephew, William (Jeanne) Banks, Rockford, Ill. And her BFF, Clementine Bruce. A host of caring and loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Roger Banks, and a sister Elicie Sandifer. Services will be held at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Thursday, August 4, 2011 @ 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Oliver J. Edison officiating.
