Norma Jean Kline, 82, of Freeport died Sunday in her home. She was born January 30, 1931 in Orangeville, Illinois the daughter of Stanley and Laura(Williams) Gross. Norma married James R. Kline on October 26, 1946 in Freeport. He died October 6, 2006. Mrs. Kline was employed by Newell Companies and retired after 37 years. Norma was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the Moose Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with her husband when he played with country western bands. She is survived by her son, James (Penni) Kline of Freeport. Two daughters, Judy Eikstadt; of Freeport and Kathy (Bill) Walsh; of New Auburn, Wisconsin. Nine grandchildren, Ron Thruman; of Freeport, Greg Kline; of Orlando, Fla., Jason Kline; of Orland, Fla., Tim Kline; of Freeport, Stacey (Tim) Joseph; of Freeport Tracey (Reg) Sellers; of Freeport, Kevin Friedenbach; of Bettendorf, Iowa, Heidi Friedenbach; of Brandywine, Md. and Eric Friedenbach of Freeport. Six great-grandchildren, Owen, Jake and Marley Joseph, Nina and Niomi Sellers and Aubrie Friedenbach. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, two sisters, and her son, William Kline. A Funeral service will be Saturday, 2:00 P.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Rev. William Blomberg will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at Burke-Tubbs.
