Norma J. DeGraff passed peacefully on January 27, 2024. Norma was born September 16, 1929 to Edward J. Eggemeier and Alma (Tielke) Eggemeier in Leona, Winnebago County, IL. On March 10th, 1951 she married Ray Monigold. He passed away December 1st 1971. She married LeRoy Degraff on June 5th 1976, he passed away December 18th 2013. She loved her family first above all, followed by bingo, listening to music especially Frank Sinatra, she bowled for over 30 years and couldn't refuse an offer to visit a casino. Norma was also a HUGE fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls. She watched every game she could. She retired from Honeywell MICRO SWITCH after 29 years, 7 months.
Norma leaves behind 1 sister Charlotte Ditsworth, and brother Ray (Sandra)-Eggemeier both of Freeport, 2 sons-David (Elithzzia) Eggemeier of Roanoke, VA and Steve (Debbie) Monigold of Freeport, 5 grandchildren Jeremy (Debi) Monigold of Cedarville, Jill (Matt) Lei and Jessica (Luke) Adkins of Freeport, Erin (Ryan) Klappenbach of Columbus.OH and Paul (Marissa) Eggemeier of Roanoke, VA, 8-great-grandchildren, 1 in Columbus, OH, 1 in Roanoke, VA and 6 in Freeport. She also had two stepchildren Michelle of Monroe, WI & Mike of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and 10 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday February 1, 2024 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Rev. Gary Rich officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Norma’s memory.
