Nancy E. Seiner, 90, of Freeport, Illinois, passed away on January 8, 2025, at Freeport Memorial Hospital. She was born to Clyde and Ferol (Phillips) Jensen. Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Dakota High School. On May 26, 1956, she married Stanley Seiner, who preceded her in death on May 27, 2013.

Nancy spent several years working at Fairbanks and Morse Co. before becoming a daycare provider, where she touched the lives of many children and families. After retiring, she devoted much of her time volunteering to care for the flowers in downtown Freeport where she was know as the “Flower Lady” She took great pride in her flower garden and the Freeport Christmas tradition of the Red Apple.

Nancy’s greatest joy was always her family. She found happiness in attending her children’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s school activities and loved being an active part of their lives.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Michael (Kim) Seiner and Thomas Seiner; grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Seiner) Becker and Jared Seiner; and great-grandchildren, Dawson and Lilly Becker, and Maggie and Declan Seiner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Stanley, three brothers—Dale, Herold, and Ronnie Jensen—and one sister, Jean Jensen Madder.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Zion Church, 4292 Stephenson St. Rd., Freeport, IL 61032. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. A memorial fund has been established in Nancy’s name.
