N. John "Tex" Krogull, 90, passed away on August 25, 2023 at Manor Court in Freeport, IL, surrounded by his loved ones.
Tex was born on April 13, 1933 in Freeport, IL son of Ervin and Marian (Deibel) Krogull. He graduated from Aquin High School in 1951. He went to work for Micro Switch soon after until his retirement in his late 50’s. Tex was also a part-time butcher for his father and later Art Ross; ending that career in the mid-1970s. Tex married Veneta Casselman on September 17, 1955 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport. To this union four children were born Ed , Mary Kay, Sally, and Jacqui.
Tex was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and an Aquin High School Booster. He was an avid White Sox fan as well as a Chicago Cubs hater. After retiring, Tex and Veneta enjoyed traveling with friends and family. Most of all Tex cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Tex is survived by his wife, Veneta; three daughters, Mary Kay Krogull, Sally (Russ) Roedl and Jacqui (Rollie) Jacobsen; six grandchildren, Barrett (Emily) Jacobsen, Nick (Kim) Krogull, Lyndsey (Nate) Spurlock, Ally Roedl, Kelsey (Brad) Kazmierczak, Taylor Jacobsen; 5 great- grandchildren, Omarion and Ari Pasley, Gavin Jacobsen, Beau and Brooks Kazmierczak; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ed Krogull; granddaughter, Danielle Roedl and sister, Mary Lou Stambaugh.
Funeral Mass will be held 11:00am on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Freeport, IL, with Father Peter Snieg, officiating. Memorial Visitation will be 10:00am until time of mass at the church on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Inurnment of cremated remains will be at Calvary Cemetery. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
