Milton "Milt" H. Klaas, 88, of Freeport, died Monday, August 5, 2019 at Manor Court. Milt was born December 25, 1930 in Bolton, the son of Albert and Elsie (Kuhlimeier) Klaas. Milt married Ruth F. Meyer November 23, 1957 in Elizabeth, Illinois. Mrs. Klaas died June 16, 2004. Milton served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Era. He worked for Crum & Forster, Baer Insurance, and Economy Fire & Causality. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Toastmasters. Milton enjoyed fishing, golfing, and going for walks. Milt was always dedicated to his family. Surviving is his son, Brian (Alice) Klaas of Kansas City, MO.; daughter, Sandra Jean (Joseph) Moran of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; brother, Leonard (Bernieta) Klaas of Stockton; and four grandchildren, Jon Moran, Kelley (Bill) Schwartz, Megan (Eric) Kroll, and Erik Klaas. Milt was preceded in death by his wife and brother, Melvin. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday August 9, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Kenneth Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at St. Thomas on Friday. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
