Michael Lloyd Arn

Michael Lloyd Arn, 66, of Freeport, passed away, Sunday March 14, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born July 1, 1954 in Freeport, the son of John and Juanita (Clarno) Arn. He married Connie Rackow on April 13, 1975 in Freeport. Michael worked as a supervisor for 18 years at Furst-McNess before retiring as a truck driver for FED-EX Freight. He was a longtime member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He helped coach many Church League Basketball teams. Mr. Arn enjoyed camping and boating and spending time with his beloved family. His grandchildren always held a very special place in his heart. Surviving is his wife, Connie Arn of Freeport; son, Matthew (Nicole) Arn of Freeport; daughter Amber (Michael) Schmelzer of Freeport; two grandchildren, Liam and Raef Schmelzer; sister, Suzanne (Michael) Schaaf of Dakota; mother-in-law, Delores Rackow of Freeport; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Arn of Broadhead, Wisconsin. Mr. Arn was preceded in death by his parents, John and Juanita Arn; brother, Stephan Arn; and father-in-law, Leo Rackow. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 20, 2021 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Pastor Willis R. Schwichtenberg will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday March 19, 2021 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Michael's memory.
