Michael Diestelmeier

Michael Diestelmeier Loving Husband, Father, and Papa Michael Diestelmeier of Cedarville, Illinois passed away on May 25, 2015 in his home. Mike was born on October 18, 1944 to parents William and Doris Diestelmeier in Freeport, Illinois. Mike lived a fulfilling life with his loving wife Vicki of 50 years. Mike spent 13 years working at Chrysler before spending 36 years as a beloved member of the Freeport School District maintenance staff. He served many years as a volunteer firefighter; retiring as captain of the Freeport Rural Fire Department Station #3. Mike loved his family, Jeeps, car-talk, and all Illinois sports teams, as well as visiting the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan with his friends and family. Mike was a loving, patient, and caring man. He will be missed greatly by his survivors: his wife, Vicki Diestelmeier, two daughters Jodi (Rob) Barber and Jori (Brian) Nott and three grandchildren, Jessica and Tyler Barber and Tanner Nott, as well as his sister-in-law Electa Trei along with many friends. Visitation will be Monday, June 1st, from 3-8 PM, followed by a service on Tuesday, June 2nd beginning at 11:30 AM, both at the Jeanette Lloyd Theater in the Freeport Middle School located across from the high school.
