Michael D. Grulke

Michael D. Grulke, 70, of Freeport died Wednesday January 22, 2020 after an extended illness. He was born July 24, 1949 in Beloit, WI to Albert W. and Dorothy M. (Mickelson) Grulke. Mike married Sherrie Koning on October 15, 1983 in Rockton, IL. He was a brick and stone mason for many years and a 50 year member of the Local Union No. 6 Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. Mike enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and spending time with his family. He loved the outdoors and was known for sharing his many memories and adventures. Surviving is his wife Sherrie of Freeport; son Scott (Lisa) Grulke of St. Charles, IL; daughter Ashley Grulke of Bozeman, MT; two brothers Mark (Shantel) Grulke of Rockton, IL and Matt (Lin) Grulke of Venice, FL; two nephews Troy and Taylor; two grandchildren Alexis and Lindsey; and four legged friends Bella Bee, Buster, Buddy, and Zoe. He is preceded in death by his parents. Per Mike's wishes there will be no services. A family gathering will be held. A memorial has been established in his memory.
