Mercedes M. Inda

Mercedes M. Inda, 88, of Freeport died Friday at F.H. N. Memorial Hospital. She was born March 1, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Mercedes (Kain) Warner. Mercedes married Robert F. Inda on September 18, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. He died July, 16, 1993. Mrs. Inda Was employed by F.W. Woolworth Company. Mrs. Inda was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church and a 46 year member of V.F.W. Auxiliary # 998. She enjoyed gardening, bingo , playing cards with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Inda is survived by her daughter; Roberta 'Bobbie' ( George ) Street of Freeport. Her grandson; Peter (Teresa) Knipschield of Red Oak and her granddaughter; Sharon (Keith) Drake of Freeport. Four great-grandchildren; Ashley and Amber Knipschield and Megan and Shane Drake. One brother; Fred Warner of Elk Grove Village, Illinois and her sister; Nannette Christiansen of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A funeral service for Mrs. Inda will be Monday, 11;00 A.M in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at Burke-Tubbs. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Saint Mary Catholic Church.
