Maxine Cecilia Mckillip

Maxine Cecilia McKillip, 81, of Freeport, died Thursday November 17, 2016 at Manor Court after suffering for many years from Rheumatoid Arthritis. Maxine was born September 30, 1935 in Louisburg, WI. daughter of Leonard and Nellie (Deiters) Klaas. She graduated from Belmont High School in 1952. Maxine married Joseph McKillip on July 18, 1953, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Platteville, Wisconsin. Mr. McKillip passed away on February 9, 2011. She was employed by Structo Mfg. Company, Rockford Life Insurance and retired from Freeport Memorial Hospital after completing 25 years of service. She was a lifetime member of Provena St. Joseph Auxiliary and a long standing member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Maxine is survived by two daughters, Kathryn (Bruce) Buckingham of Port Clinton, OH, and Barbara (Harold) Miller of Monroe, WI; son, Michael (Julie Garrison) McKillip of West Des Moines, IA; seven grandchildren, Eric (Emily) Buckingham of Kettering, OH, Jeff (Brandy) Buckingham of Jacksonville, FL, Brittany Miller of Minneapolis, MN, Jeremy and Chelsea Miller of Monroe, and Jordan and Colin McKillip of West Des Moines, IA; brother, Eugene (Phyllis) Klaas of Lancaster, WI; three great-grandchildren, Ella and Erin Buckingham and Alexia Gaboy. A host of nieces and nephews and many dear friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday November 26, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Kenneth Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be 4:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday November 25, 2016 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home; with a Rosary service starting at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at St. Thomas. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established for St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Maxine's memory.
