Mary Suzanne Boerner, 73, of Freeport, IL passed away Thursday March 9, 2023 at Pearl Pavillion in Freeport, IL. She was born June 20, 1949 in Freeport, IL to Charles and Alice (Reddington) McCool. On June 23, 1984 she married Brad Boerner at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Freeport, IL. Mary Sue‘s employment included CVS, Domino Liquors, FHN Memorial Hospital, and Midwest Bank as a teller. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where she was a servant of Mary. Mary Sue also volunteered for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Mary Sue was a very social person and she loved being around people. She is survived by her husband Brad of Freeport, IL; brother John McCool of Alaska; and sister Pat (John) Muehlenberg of Cave Creek, AZ. Mary Sue is preceded in death by her parents, sister Kay and sister-in-law Liana. Funeral mass will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday March 18, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church with Father Peter Snieg officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of mass. There will also be a visitation Friday March 17, 20223 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. with a scripture service starting at 5:00 P.M. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for St. Thomas Aquinas Church and the Activity Department at Pearl Pavilion.
