Mary Sands

Mary T. Sands, 91 yrs old, of Freeport passed away on Monday, December 4th, 2023. She was born May 1st, 1932 in Chicago.

Surviving are her children, son Michael (Debbie), daughters, Marie (Joel) VanStee and Lynn (Vince) Jankiewicz, grandchildren, Michael (Sharon), Marc (Melissa), Matthew (Melissa), Terese (Jarred) Post, Erica (Justin) McElwee, Leah Kaiser, Ashley (Greg) Probst, Seth Kaiser, Vince (Gretchen) Jankiewicz, Gina Kaiser, and great-grandchildren, Mike, Christian, Autumn Sands; Gwen, Charlie, and Katie Sands; Payton and Gabe Pettry, Owen Post; Zavier Kaiser; Eli Kaiser; Maddie and Mason McElwee; Andi, Avi, and James Probst; Will and Emeline Jankiewicz. Preceded in death by her husband Floyd Sands, Jr., and great-granddaughter

Maisey McElwee.

Services will be at 10:30 am on Thursday December 7, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the funeral mass. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Mary’s memory.
