FREEPORT - Mary Louise Partoll (nee Hartmann), age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 26, 2022, after a short illness. She was born in Rockford, IL on October 14, 1932 and graduated from Bishop Muldoon High School before attending Webber College in Babson Park, Florida. She was an avid member of the Black Hawk Trails Club, where she met her husband, Herbert Partoll. Mary and Herbert both developed lifelong friendships with other members of the club. They were married in 1958 in Rockford and together shared 64 years of marriage. They lived in Rockford until 1968, when they moved to Freeport after their three children were born. She was an active mother in raising her three children, and loved being involved in their activities. Later, she obtained her real estate and broker licenses and practiced real estate until late in her life. She loved spending the winters in Florida, summers in Freeport, concerts, family parties, time with friends, and traveling. Mary especially enjoyed her Southbridge friends in Florida and her YMCA friends in Freeport. She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and formed deep friendships with her sorority sisters. She is survived by her husband Herbert, and children Kurt (Caroline) Partoll, Linda Partoll (Henry Lin), and Joseph Partoll. She is further survived by five grandchildren: Marie, Nicholas, and Michael Lin and Peter and Martin Partoll. She is preceded in death by her brothers John and Victor Hartmann. Visitation will be held at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home on Thursday December 1, 2022 from 4:00-7:00PM, with the Rosary at 4 pm. A funeral mass will take place on Friday December 2, 2022 at 10:30AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport with visitation being held one hour prior to the mass.
