Mary Jo Leisson

Mary Jo Leisson, 67, of German Valley died Tuesday in F.H.N. Memorial Hospital. She was born June 17, 1943 in Polo, Illinois the daughter of Edward and Margaret Cronister. Mary Jo married the love of her life Terry L. Leisson on May 3, 1992 in Adeline, Illinois. He died December 7, 2006. She was employed for 20 years by Thermos and then worked at Wal-Mart for ten years and retired in 2010. Mary Jo enjoyed the Antique Engine Club, following NASCAR , and spending time with her companion Bear. Her passion was raising Quarter and Paint horses. Mary Jo was a country girl at heart. Mrs. Leisson is survived by her step-daughter, Toni Leisson-Cummins of Freeport. Her stepson, Frank (Kristi) Leisson of Lexington, N.C. Her brother in law, Eldon (Sharon) Leisson of Leaf River. Her sisters in law; Marcie (Joseph) Conder of Freeport and Marg (Larry) Myers of Byron. Six step-grandchildren and Two step-great-grandchildren. Mary Jo is also survived by her special friends and care giver Cindy and Don Hull of Freeport. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral services will be Monday, 1:00 P.M. in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Forreston. Rev. James A. Stralow will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral Home. Casual attire is suggested. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name. Burial will be in Adeline Cemetery, Adeline.
