Mary Ella Day

Mary Ella Day, 91, of Freeport, IL passed away Saturday January 2, 2020 at FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born May 27, 1929 in Redlands, CA the daughter of Ansell and Opal (Knight) Forbes. On May 29, 1948 she married Donald J. Day in Rolla, MO. Mary enjoyed baking, drawing and was an avid reader. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Dave) Collier of Freeport, IL; sister Joy Lee Coffin of Missouri; daughter-in-law Jane (Robert) Furey of Naples, FL; two grandchildren Katie (Nick) Downey of Avon, IN and Steven (Amanda) Collier of Shannon, IL; and seven great-grandchildren Natalie, Sean, Ethan, Scott, Isabell, Lucas, and Emma. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Donald G. Day, and brother Robert Forbes. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in Twelve Mile Cemetery in Pecatonica, IL. A memorial has been established in her memory.
