Mary Dionne

Mary V. Dionne, 87, of Freeport died Tuesday, April 5, in Freeport Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born June 23, 1923 in Marquette, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Rose (Lompre) Wagar. She married Frederick James Dionne, Jr. on October 14, 1939. He died January 5, 1967. Mary trained as a nursing assistant and worked in that field until retiring from Marquette General Hospital in 1985. After retirement she moved between Michigan, Illinois and North Carolina. Mary'™s first love was her Lord. Mary enjoyed gardening, camping, working jigsaw puzzles and rummage sales. Survivors include two sons Leroy J. (Beverly) Dionne of McConnell, and Jerry (Kathy) Dionne of Mocksville, NC and 12 grandchildren; Russell (Heidi) Dionne, Frederick (Beth) Dionne, Jerrilynn (Richard) Gough, Christopher Dionne, Timothy (Rebecca) Dionne, Susan (Thomas) Spielman, William (Denise) Dionne, Rachel Moore, Julie (Clint) Rucker, Michael (Charlyn Welty) Dionne, Daniel (Danielle) Dionne and Christian Dionne and 19 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, her parents, two sisters, Hazel Borchert and Beatrice Dionne and one brother Charles. Cremation rites have been accorded.
