Mary Ann Eder

Mary Ann Eder, 86, of Freeport, IL passed away Friday November 22, 2024 at FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born February 5, 1938 in Shannon, IL to Ben and Mary (Eilers) Johnson. Mary was a 1956 graduate of Shannon High School, where she participated in band playing the clarinet. On November 25, 1961 she married Arnold Eder at Forreston Grove Presbyterian Church in Forreston, IL. Mary worked at Micro Switch as an adjuster in the mercury department for 34 years. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ with her husband. Mary loved collectables such as Barbies, Beanie Babies, and Hallmark ornaments among others. A clean house was crucial to Mary and she enjoyed cleaning. Reading the bible was important to Mary and it was part of her daily routine.

She is survived by her husband Arnold of Freeport, IL; two daugthers, Janet (Perry) Gigot of Grafton, WI and their two children Joshua Gigot and Jennifer (Alex) Wheaton, and Julie Miller of Apple Valley, MN and her two children Brian Miller and Katie (Kyle) Wolhowe; and her great-grandson Gabriel Wolhowe.

Preceding Mary in death are her parents and sister Helen.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday November 27, 2024 at St. John United Church of Christ with Rev. Hank Fairman officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Mary’s memory.
