Mary Ann Burrow

October 18, 1939 — February 15, 2024

Maryann Burrow transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at OSF ST Anthony Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.

Maryann was born October 18, 1939 in Winona, Mississippi to Henry and Vivian (Hudson) Collins.


She completed her formal education in Winona. Maryann was married to love of her life Willis Burrow Sr. sixty plus years. She worked for Structo many years; she went on to work for the Freeport School District 145 as a bus monitor until she decided to retire.


Maryann was the rock of her family. She was affectionally known as Aunt Mary, Granny, and GiGi.


Maryann was a member of Mt Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev Charles Threadgill Jr. she proudly served on the Nurses Board, she worked on the kitchen committee for years, she was a very active participant in the Rockford and Vicinity until her health begin to decline, she was a Sunday School Secretary and most important a church mother.


Her favorite shows were the Young & The restless, Price Is Right, Wheel of Fortune and western movies. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Maryann leaves to cherish her found memories her husband Willis L Burrow Sr.; children; Willis Burrow Jr., Diane (Maurice) Carter, Denita (Chuck) Robinson, her siblings; Delia O Shipp, Ernest (Barbara) Collins, and Darrell (Peggy) Collins, sister in-law Josephine Robinson, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


She was predeceased by her parents, sons Tommie L Burrow and Timothy Burrow, granddaughter Tomisha Burrow, two brothers Willie Collins and Henry Collins Jr.
