Mary A. Groharing

Mary A. Groharing, 89, of Freeport died Monday at F. H. N. Memorial Hospital. She was born June 23, 1923 in Thomson, Illinois the daughter of Walter and Helen (Ritenour) Falls. She married Paul E. Groharing on October 25, 1941. He died August 25, 1970. Mrs. Groharing was a member of the Savanna Moose Lodge. She enjoyed playing cards and crocheting. Mrs. Groharing is survived by three daughters; Carol Sturtevant of Freeport, Ruth (Robert) Blount of East Moline and Beth (Richard) Manus of German Valley. Her brother; Jack (Bernice) Falls of Savanna. Two sisters; Patricia Orto of Loveland. Colorado and June Melton of Libertyville, Illinois. Eight grandchildren; Michael Desseyn, Jeffrey (Elaine)Sturtevant, Mark (Linda) Sturtevant and Scott (Michelle) Sturtevant, Brook(Lisa) Garman, Janie And Annie Blount and Randal (Jodi) Manus. Also Nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Paula Desseyn, her granddaughter, Kimberly Alexander, two brothers and one sister. Memorial services for Mrs, Groharing will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 8th at York Baptist Church, 2058 Scenic Bluff Rd., Thomson, Illinois. Burial will be at York Cemetery, Thomson, Illinois.
