Marvin Freese

Marvin W. Freese, 68, of Freeport, died Friday July 20, FHN Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on February 25, 1944, in Freeport, the son of Wessel and Jennie (Frey) Freese. He married Delores Wise on September 25, 1965, in Rock City. Marvin worked at Greenlee Tool in Rockford for 15 years and at Sauer Dan Foss for 14 years. Marvin was also a janitor for Zion Church and he also was the care keeper at Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery for 27 years. Marvin attended Zion Church for 25 years and currently attended Cedarville Emmanuel Church. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Marvin is survived by his wife of 46 years; Delores Freese, two children; Brian (pat) Freese and Doreen (Steve Lampe) Freese, three grandchildren; Andrew, Ashlee and Noah Lampe, 5 step-grandchildren; Billy, Chris, Andrew, Megan and Cody, two brothers; Roger (JoAnn) Freese and Jerry (Marlyn) Freese. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 25, at Cedarville Emmanuel Church with Rev. Ron Tyler officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Also from 10:00 A.M. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory. Please sign the guestbook at www.burketubbs.com
