Marlys L. Ludewig

Marlys L. Ludewig, 76, of Forreston, died Monday March 28, 2011 in her home. Marlys was born February 17, 1935 in Florence Station, the daughter of Clarence and Beulah M. (Moring) Buisker. In 1954 Marlys married Paul J. Promenschenkel. He died in July 1976. On April 9, 1983 Marlys and Keith Ludewig were married in Woosung, Illinois. Marlys farmed in Ogle County. She was a member of the Prairie Dell Presbyterian Church in Shannon. She raised Arabian Horses, she did extensive research on Arabian horses and their pedigrees. Marlys was a expert in Arabian Horse Art, she also wrote a book on the breeding of Arabian Horses and their Ancestory. Survivors include; her husband Keith of Forreston and one daughter Eloyce (Theda J. Williams) Promenschenkel of Crab Orchard, Kentucky. Marlys was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be Friday April 1, 2011, 2:00 P.M. in the Prairie Dell Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jim Stralow officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Ogle County Hospice in Marlys memory.
