Marlynn H. Boomgarden, 86, of Freeport, died Tuesday May 29, 2012 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Marlynn was born on March 12, 1926 in German Valley. He was the son of Harry and Margaret (Fransen) Boomgarden. Marlynn married Rose Beyeler on February 9, 1952. Marylnn worked 15 years for W. T. Rawleigh Co. before starting at Kelly Springfield Tire Co. He retired from Kelly Springfield in July of 1988. Marlynn enjoyed hunting, fishing and also traveling with his family on vacations. Surviving are his wife, Rose of Freeport; three daughters, Ramona (David) Schultz of Freeport, Marlene (Robert) Stewart of Cedarville and Anita (Ralf) Hottmann of Cedarville, and one son, Marlynn R. (Glynese) Boomgarden of Moravia, Iowa. He has 9 grandchildren; Alan Schultz, Jennifer Tanik, Tammy (Jeff) Kromm, Theresa Stewart, Robert (Kristie) Stewart Jr., Aaron Hottmann, Alicia Hottmann, Austin Boomgarden, Ashtin Boomgarden and 9 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Harry (Mary) Boomgarden of Freeport, one sister, Velma (Bruce) Morrell of Monroe Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Dorothy Cox, Vernena Schultz, Margaret Kaufman and 2 infant sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday June 1, 2012 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Don Jamerson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs.
