Marlene L. Gaul

Marlene L. Gaul, 78, of Polo, died Sunday, December 17, 2017 in her home. Marlene was born June 3, 1939 in Forreston, the daughter of Simon and Gladys (Ebright) Weegens. She married Robert Gaul on May 24, 1958 in Forreston. She was a member of Faith Discovery Church in Polo. Marlene enjoyed spending her free time cooking, raising horses, and baby sitting her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Robert Gaul of Polo; son, Randy Gaul of Polo; daughter, Vickie (Doug) Wiersema of Chadwick; three sisters, Barbara Gilbert, Ethel (Robert) Hudson and Carol Fishman all of Tucson, Arizona. Also surviving are four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Marlene was preceded in death by her son, Robert; brother, Richard Weegens; and sister, Phyllis Weegens. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday December 22, 2017 at Faith Discovery Church (801 W. Oregon St. Polo, Illinois). Rev. Daniel Wiersema will officiate. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery in Forreston. A memorial has been established for Serenity Hospice in Marlene's memory.
